I have some emails that I wish to keep and I would like to save them to a file. I do not want to archive them in T'Bird but want them in a file that I can read later. Now I know that I can do this by cutting and pasting into (for example) a Word document. I just wanted to find an easier way.

How to Install Add-on Extension: After downloading addon extension *.xpi file to desktop or downloads folder.

In Thunderbird 'Tools' > 'Add-ons' or 'Menu icon' > 'Add-ons'

  • Click on gear wheel icon and select 'Install Add-on From File'.
  • Locate the *.xpi file you downloaded and click on 'Open'.
  • You may need to restart Thunderbird when prompted.

You can then select to save emails in various format to anywhere you choose outside of Thunderbird.
