How do I create a user account: login name and password?
I'm trying to transfer Firefox bookmarks from one machine to another. I need an account to identify the bookmarks I want, but as far as I know, I don't have a Firefox account. So I'm trying to create one on the old machine that I'll use to transfer bookmarks to the new machine.
Chosen solution
You can copy files from the Firefox profile folder on one computer to the profile folder on another computer by copying the files to a removable USB stick (jump drive).
You can copy files like these to the Firefox profile folder to recover specific data.
- bookmarks and history: places.sqlite
- bookmark backups: JSON backups in the bookmarkbackups folder
- SQLite files like cookies.sqlite (cookies) and formhistory.sqlite (saved form data)
- logins.json and key3.db (decryption key) for Passwords saved in the Password Manager
- cert8.db for stored intermediate certificates (Certificate Manager)
- persdict.dat for words you added to the spelling checker dictionary
- permissions.sqlite and possibly content-prefs.sqlite for Permissions and Site Preferences
- sessionstore.js for open tabs and pinned tabs and tab groups
You can recover more personal data.
