Hello. For some reason I can't get Firefox started this morning. It crashes immediately upon startup. Specifically, after a refresh, a window pops up for about 1 second with two tabs displayed but then everything shuts down. I'm not sure if the second tab is a clue or not. When it starts normally, it is set to start up with one tab (about:blank).

I have tried the following:

1. Safe Mode 2. Refresh 3. Reinstall (twice)

Using version 44 on a Windows 7 PC. My latest crash report ID is: Crash ID: bp-b5419d9e-13ec-4862-9b51-379a82160205

Any other suggestions on other things to try?

Thank you! glubash

Chosen solution

Hi, this seems to be a problem with Websense Endpoint, so if you have it on your system or within your organization, perhaps you could if possible try disabling it.

If your question is resolved by this or another answer, please take a minute to let us know. Thank you.

Just ran MalWareBytes. No items found. Also ran ccleaner with no improvements.

That did it!

Now that you've pointed me in the right direction, I found another report with a similar issue. Apparently, Endpoint doesn't support version 44 yet.

Workaround: Rename the Firefox.exe file. Firefox2.exe worked just fine for me.

Thank you!
