"Unresponsive Script" + video error on Sky Sports website
Hi all
I regularly stream from the Sky Sports website, which uses the SilverLight add-on. It has been fine for months, but lately I'm getting an odd problem.
When I load the stream, the video will be extremely poor (the audio is fine), probably a frame rate of about 0.5 - 1 per second. After about a minute, maybe less, the familiar "Warning: Unresponsive Script" message will pop up, and when this message appears, the video works fine. If I click 'continue' or 'stop', the result will be the same: it'll go back to the stuttery video, and the unresponsive script thing will come up again.
For now, I've cut my losses and just left it to play with the unresponsive script message on top of the video, but it's not a great resolution. I've restarted the computer, re-installed the Silverlight add-on etc.
If it helps, I'm on Windows 10. There was an update recently which could have something to do with it.
Any ideas??
P.S. I can't try it on Chrome as Sky don't let you stream using Chrome.

Could you make a note of the script listed on the notification? This might point toward an issue with an add-on or a script called by the page or... something else. If convenient, you can post a screenshot of it, please cut out or blur any sensitive information in the image before attaching the file to a reply.

Hey, thanks for your reply and sorry for the delay - I was away for a while.
The script is mentions is:
"Script: https://secure-ds.serving-sys.…urstingScript/SZMKFLVPAIDBR.js:17"
Does that help? Let me know if you need any more details
Thanks again
When I click through in the Video section, the site uses Flash. Could you give a link to a page that is using Silverlight?
A common cause of unresponsive script errors with Flash on Windows 7 is the protected mode feature of the Flash player plugin. That feature has security benefits, but seems to have serious compatibility issues on some systems. You can disable it using the Add-ons page. Either:
- Ctrl+Shift+a
- "3-bar" menu button (or Tools menu) > Add-ons
In the left column, click Plugins. On the right side, find "Shockwave Flash" and click the More link. Then uncheck the box for "Enable Adobe Flash protected mode" and try that for a day to see whether it helps.
