deleting mails in t-online account (IMAP) & deleting superfluous folders don't work
Without my action, superfluous folders have been created in the past. Deleting button doesn't work. How can I delete the superfluous folders?
Deleting mails doesn't work, they disappear but remain at the provider t-online (IMAP account). How can I fix the deleting function? Or, do I have to delete IMAP based mails at the server, i.e. directly at t-online?
I installed Thunderbird from a brand new download, just now.

Re. picture: Necessary & standard are Posteingang = Ingoing mail / Entwürfe = concepts / Gesendet = sent / Archiv = archives / Papierkorb = waste paper basket. The rest is unnecessary and I want to delete it.
Login to your account via webmail. Do those unwanted folders exist on the server? If you're certain there is no mail to be kept in any of the unwanted folders try to delete them on the server.
right click he account in the folder pane and select subscribe. Unsubscribe from any folders you do not with to see.
Right click the account again and select settings in server settings select the advanced button. Make sure show only subscribed folders is selected.
