How can I retrieve contact information.

I recently transferred to a new email provider hosted by my ISP. I have found that a lot of information did not transfer from Thunderbird to the new account. All that I can see is basic names and phone numbers in the new account but no information such as addresses or fax numbers. If I reinstall Thunderbird will I be able to get this information back?
