Strange brackets on buttons after upgrade to 64bit?

I just upgraded my Firefox to the 64bit version (Firefox 48.0) and now all the OK, Cancel and Close Tabs buttons appear with strange brackets after the text (see attached image)

I have tried Refreshing firefox, removing all addons and clearing all personal data, but the brackets are still there.

Please advise if there's something else I can try or if this is a bug that will be fixed in the next update?
