I keep losing the toolbar for "Favorite, Bookmarks, Downloads, Home", and in my case, Pocket. I reset it under Customization to restore defaults, but the next time I open, the toolbar is gone again. How can I fix this?

What are you using that gives you Favorite in Firefox? Not a feature in Firefox - that's what IE calls Bookmarks.

This extension comes to mind. https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/plainoldfavorites/

Whatever extension added that feature may be messing up Firefox. i.e., an old extension that isn't quite compatible with Firefox 50. Disable that extension and see if that is / was the culprit.

You can check for problems with preferences.

Delete possible user.js and numbered prefs-##.js files and rename/remove the prefs.js file to reset all prefs to the default value including prefs set via user.js and prefs that are no longer supported in current Firefox releases.

There is software like Advanced SystemCare with its Surfing Protection feature that can protect files in the Firefox profile folder against changes. If you have such software then check the settings or uninstall this software.

If you use cleanup software like CCleaner then check the settings for the Firefox application.
