Links won't open in webpages in Firefox (they will in other browsers)

Restared Firefox problem still there.

Set Internet Explorer as default. Can now open external links in IE.

Now re-set Firefox as default but no external links are opened.

Started in safe-mode, ie no addons, still can't open external links.

Windows 7 - Firefox 50.1.0

re-install again and see...fresh install
