Mail Server settings for Centurylink suddenly do not work.
I really think I need to talk to someone about my server settings for Thunderbird with Centurylink. Today I cannot connect to either the outgoing or incoming server. Yesterday, and for years, everything was fine. Talked to Centurylink and they checked my settings. Still did not work. Centurylink works fine on their webpage. I have Thunderbird 45.7.0. Did you people make some change on your end?

Email providers configure their servers. The settings you need you get from them. Thunderbird is client software running on your computer. No one is going to make changes unless it is you.
Make sure your firewall is not blocking Thunderbird. Some firewalls see a new version of the same software as new software and block it.
Again, I had already indicated that Centurylink had already looked at my settings, gave me current information and Thunderbird still did not work.
All is well now. My Centurylink connection is now working on Thunderbird. Called Centurylink again and they corrected the sever setting. The one they gave me yesterday apparently was incorrect.
Thank you for your concern and response.
