During PC-swap something went wrong with my Inbox, so I now only have the .msf-file of that mailbox. How can I recreate my Inbox (as an OldInbox e.g.)?

Other folders are OK, so it is only the Inbox which is lost. I've tried moving that .msf-file around, but I only see the mails for 1/2 of a second, and then they disappear.

Make sure thunderbird is closed.

Access profile name folder on backup. If imap click on ImapMail' folder. If pop click on 'Mail' folder click on mail account name The 'Inbox.msf' file is just an index file. The emails will be in the backup 'Inbox' (no extension) mbox file. Make a copy of that backup 'Inbox' (no extension) mbox file - put it on desktop. Then change it's name to 'OldInbox'. Copy paste 'OldInbox' mbox file to external device.

Access the new profile name folder on new pc. Copy paste 'OldInbox' mbox file from external device into the mail account name folder. In Windows Os: C:\Users\<Windows user name>\AppData\Roaming\Thunderbird\Profiles\<Profile name>\ Mail or ImapMail\mail account name http://kb.mozillazine.org/Profile_folder_-_Thunderbird

Start Thunderbird and the 'OldInbox.msf' file will be auto created. You should see a new folder in the Folder Pane called 'OldInbox'.
