How can I get a new tab to open when I click on an option in a search I have done?
When I do a search, I want a new tab to open when I click on a choice from the search.... It used to do this.......
When my pc crashed last week, I had to reinstall Firefox and now when I click on a choice, it opens in the same tab. This makes it difficult to compare information in different choices.... I want to search and be able to click on a choice, have it open in a new tab, and be able to go back to my 'search' to look at other options.....
I have tried to find a remedy but have been unsuccessful.... Please help!
Thanks!

The Google website has a choice on its settings page top open results in a new tab.
The Firefox search bar on the Navigation Toolbar has a (hidden) setting that you can access and modify on the about:config page.
- browser.search.openintab = true
You can open the about:config page via the location/address bar. You can accept the warning and click "I'll be careful" to continue.
If you prefer a different search provider, most of them probably have a similar setting. For example:
Bing: http://www.bing.com/account/general => Results section
DuckDuckGo: https://duckduckgo.com/settings => New window setting
Startpage.com: https://www.startpage.com/do/preferences => Results Appearance section
Yahoo: https://search.yahoo.com/preferences/preferences => Open search results setting
This might be saved in your account, or it might only be saved in a cookies, so if the settings keeps getting lost, consider whether you might be clearing cookies or using private windows.
