e-mail account set up wrong password

more options

I've tried several times to change my password on an e-mail account I allready configured in Thunderbird.

It is a gmail-account, Thunderbird says my password is not correct. Therefore I changed my password, but this doesn't solve the problem.

Can anybody help me, what do I have to do?

Chosen solution

You may have the same problem I was having - when using POP with Gmail, you need to go into your Gmail account and enable "allow less secure apps" or it will not recognize your password.

What are you using? OAuth2, an application specific password, a regular password? Two factor authentication?

I think it is OAuth2, but don't know for sure. I've removed the e-mail account and tried to add it again. In the image you can see the error (in dutch)
