The next Firefox 55.0.1 problem, Ghostery is causing FF to hang- be very slow.
Hi Since the update to Firefox 55.0.1 I have had a number of add-on related problems. The one I am currently trying to resolve is that Ghostery is causing FF to hang - become very slow. All functions are slow, (loading pages, opening tabs, typing, etc) even starting FF with Ghostery running is slow. If I disable Ghostery and re enable all other (10) add-ons FF is back to its usual (very fast) speed) Is anyone else having this issue, are there any solutions?
Thanks

You would have to contact the Ghostery developer in case of issues with his extension.

I suggest downgrading to v54 until v55 has been fixed.

If you still want to downgrade, look under; I still want to downgrade. Click the Directory of other versions and languages link. Look for the directory of the version that you want. But, remember that old versions may have security issues.

I contacted Ghostery when I started this thread, they replied at the same time cor-el did suggesting I update FF again. So, I now have Firefox 55.0.2 and things appear to have setteled down. I often have 2 FF windows open each having 10-14 tabs, at one point (post 55.0.1 and pre 55.0.2) I had a different layout on one of the windows and some significant lagging on both. Update 55.0.2 has fixed the problen.
Thanks for the responses and thanks to FF for the fixes.
