Since have been installing and reinstalling please download this Full Version 56.0.1 Installer and uninstaller any other versions of Firefox, delete folders in Program Files and Program Files x86 and in ProgramData https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/all/

Please let us know if this solved your issue or if need further assistance.

I have uninstalled and reinstalled Firefox 2x??

Yes but did you follow the above directions ?

I will try it one last time and check the different folders. Strange thing is, this morning I was using my Firefox browser as usual. Then I left and went to the store and when I returned and tried to open Firefox again it would do anything? I am trying to understand what could have happened in that short time?

more options

Nope, nothing. I went to all three folders after the un-install process, removed any remaining folders, re-installed Firefox - and nothing.

I right-click and try to run as administrator - nothing happens. It just won't open or run?

The duplicate was my original post, but after going through the authentication process and logging on I couldn't find it so I posted a second (this one) post

Currently I am running a malware scan

Boot the computer in Windows Safe mode with network support to see if that has effect in case security software is causing problems.

Do a malware check with several malware scanning programs on the Windows computer.

Please scan with all programs because each program detects different malware. All these programs have free versions.

Make sure you update each program to get the latest version of their databases before doing a scan.

You can also do a check for a rootkit infection with TDSSKiller.

Can I run multiple scans at the same time or should I only run one scan at a time?

more options

They could conflict, best to run 1 at a time.

I ran the list (one at a time) of all the malware and spyware programs. Nothing has changed. I still can't open/run Firefox  :/

Try to boot the computer in Windows Safe Mode with network support and do a clean reinstall.

Do a clean reinstall of the current Firefox release and delete the Firefox program folder before installing a fresh copy of the current Firefox release.

If possible uninstall your current Firefox version to cleanup the Windows Registry and settings in security software.

  • do NOT remove "personal data" when you uninstall the current Firefox version, because this will remove all profile folders and you lose personal data like bookmarks and passwords including data in profiles created by other Firefox versions

Remove the Firefox program folder before installing that newly downloaded copy of the Firefox installer.

  • (64-bit Firefox) "C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\"
  • (32-bit Firefox) "C:\Program Files (x86)\Mozilla Firefox\"

Your personal data like bookmarks is stored in the Firefox profile folder, so you won't lose personal data when you uninstall and reinstall or update Firefox, but make sure NOT to remove personal data when you uninstall Firefox as that will remove all Firefox profile folders and you lose your personal data.

Try to start Firefox in Safe Mode to see if that works if there are still ally.
