I don't know how long this has been persisting for (a month plus?), but I'm now to the point where I realized this is specifically a Firefox problem. Basic command key shortcuts like copy, paste, any scroll lock keys like arrow keys, page up/down, etc all do not work. I can't even use tab to jump to the next input box for say entering a username/password on a website. Other shortcuts like ctrl+d or ctrl+o work, but nothing else. I can't even scroll turning off Number lock and using 2 or 8.

Everything works fine on other browsers and on my PC otherwise (start key, system menus/files/folders, etc).

The lack of updates and/or support for current add-ons is exactly why I have not updated Firefox beyond v56. I've already read other posts where users updated and the issue still persisted. Regardless, this suggestion only avoids fixing a problem which I think is safe to say does not affect everyone using v56.

So back to my original issue and some ideas on how to possibly fix it would be helpful.

edit: Got lucky with troubleshooting. I boot up FF in safe mode and the issues disappeared. So I assumed it was likely add-on related. The first add-on I disabled fixed the issue and I have since removed it from FF. The add-on in question is HighlightAll 1.9 for anyone that reads this topic in the future.

It shows here you are running version 56, that is a unsupported browser and is no longer safe for everyday use. Please Update to Firefox Version 57 with a Full Version Installer https://www.mozilla.org/firefox/all/ But before you do : Please make a backup of your Profile (even though that maybe the issue and problems having) https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/back-and-restore-information-firefox-profiles

If you do not wish to upgrade there is a Secure Browser 52.5.0 ESR. It will continue to get security updates until May 2018, and you can download and install it from this page: https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/organizations/all/ Note : Legacy Extensions will be deleted or removed in any version update after May 2018.

You should make a backup of your Profile before going back and just because: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/back-and-restore-information-firefox-profiles

Please let us know if this solved your issue or if need further assistance.
