unread messages are not shown
The Thunderbird folder list at the left of the screen shows 9 unread messages for the Inbox. But no unread messages are shown in the message list.

NOTE: Another computer in the home is not experiencing the problem. The other computer is also running Thunderbird.
What should I do?
right click the folder, select properties and then the repair button.
The TWC agent fixed the unread messages problem (unable to read incoming messages.) Here are the server settings that they used.
The unread message count has nothing to do with the server settings on a pop mail account. Personally I would strongly object to my provider simple using port 110 and NO connection security at all. But I suppose you get what you pay for with TWC. It would avoid the built in failure of some anti virus products to behave and do their job.
I have no problem with TWC. They solved the problem.
The server settings I'm showing here are the ones TWC gave me to fix the problem. Other Thunderbird users will find them helpful.
If a moderator could remove my email addresses from the two attachments, I would appreciate it. Thanks.
