I need to download an older version of firefox for macos 10.6.8

I was recently prompted to d/l the most recent V. of firefox for my old macbook running 10.6.8 and AFTER REPLACING the older V. I'm told the new V. won't run. I've tried getting El Capitan from Apple but the d/l won't even start. Please help me!

Firefox 45.9.0esr will be the most up to date version with security fixes that will run.

The Firefox 48.0.2 was released August 24, 2016 and is missing several security updates that the Firefox 45.9.0esr released on April 19, 2017 has.

Firefox 45.9.0esr will be the most up to date version with security fixes that will run.

Thank you so much James! The V.45.9.0esr works fine with all my saved logins and bookmarks restored. I'm not much of a contributor but I love it when things are successful like this! Thanks again, Joedee.
