"Back" and "Forward" never work when viewing individual messages--i.e. can't scroll through messages

When a message is opened in a new tab, the "Back" and "Forward" buttons at the top of the page never seem to work. I cannot jump to the next message or jump back to a previous message.

Are they greyed out? If yes, then this is because you have not used the options to go to next message, so it cannot know what is eg: 'Back' until it has gone forward to next message.

Open email in a new tab 'Go' > 'Next' > ' Message' You will then see the 'Go' > 'Back' option highlighted.
