PRESENT P7M ATTACHMENTS APPARENTLY MISSED
Hi all!
I've a weired problem and I can't find a clue. It is, on some of my clients (*) with Thunderbird when it arrives a mail (**) with a 7PM attachment (***) , the icon of the attachment is displaied on the row of the message list window on the right, but when it is opened, it is no more diplayed, neither in any way accessible and when I close the window of the mail, it is no more displayed also in the message list window where it was displaied before. The attachment are there, as you can see by opening the sorce of the message and also doing a forward, but the user can't get it in any way.
(*) Win 7 Pro, the problem is on about one on ten and of them and now there are two clients with such behaviour (**) also from another Thunderbird client, the server is Zimbra (***) 7PM are a type of digitally signed files for the system of italian digital signature

I suspect that the message is in some strange format, so that Thunderbird doesn't understand its structure. You can try setting the pref mailnews.display.show_all_body_parts_menu to true and see if you can view the attachment when you set the view to View > Message Body As > All Body Parts…
Thanks, maybe it would have worked, or at least to understand the trouble, but now I already have installed ThunderPEC plugin that solved my issue (P7M is an italian thing like spagetti, it is, they are related to our national digital signature protocol; maybe it'a a problem of MIME coding).

The bug is displaying the attachment icon at all, not the non display of the email signature file. It is not meant to be read, displayed or opened. That is handled by displaying the signed mail icon in the message header.

The problem is that the p7m file is a digital signed pdf, so if the user can't see it and more important if he can't open it, that's a nasty issue and I think a Thunderbird bug, because in other mailer the file is visible and the user can open it.
