in my emails or on a website why am always required to click a separate box "allow" rather than being taken right to the link? Is there a setting to avoid this frustrating delay thousands of times a day?

Hi geo75, that doesn't sound like a built-in feature of Firefox, unless the redirect block got turned on. You can double-check that here:

(1) In a new tab, type or paste about:config in the address bar and press Enter/Return. Click the button accepting the risk.

(2) In the search box above the list, type or paste access and pause while the list is filtered

(3) If the accessibility.blockautorefresh preference is bolded and "modified" or "user set" to true, double-click it to restore the default value of false

This feature was designed for users of screen reader software to avoid losing context. It isn't recommended for normal browser.

jscher2000, thank you sir for your help. This problem has plagued me for some time, and I have no idea what caused it. I have updated Firefox several times hoping an update would solve my problem but it never did. I now have Firefox back as my favorite browser.
