LC_TIME not respected by Thunderbird

When I start Thunderbird, 24 hour times and other US date notation is shown, even though LC_TIME is set to nl_NL.UTF-8

This might be a bug because it always used to respect LC_TIME in the past

Anyone else have this problem? Should I create a bug report?
