I have Thunderbird 60.4.0. When working with e-mails, the program will just hang for 3-10 seconds while doing tasks. It will do this when I'm trying to move messages between folders, opening a new message, typing in e-mail addresses, typing in the body of an e-mail, even clicking on the "About Thunderbird" under Help. I do have "Allow Windows Search to search messages" unchecked. What is going on and how can I get this lag to stop?

What is your anti-virus software?

It's the built-in anti-virus from Microsoft. I can't turn it off because this is a computer at work.

Does the problem go away?

In any case, you should probably talk to your corporate IT folks.
