My Firefox seems to have completely broken. First of all, I noticed while on a news site, the browser was getting re-directed to a different news site. Then Firefox kept hanging. I uninstalled then reinstalled it, (and also "refreshed" it), and now it's showing "Your connection is not secure" for every single site I visit. This is worrying behaviour. Can anyone explain what's happening, and if there is a fix. Thanks.

hi, first please make sure that the date, time & timezone are set correctly on your system. if this doesn't solve the issue (or it is already set properly), a solution depends on the individual circumstances:

  • what is the error code shown when you click on advanced on that error page?
  • please also give us more information about the error by clicking on the error code, copying the text to the clipboard and then pasting it here into a reply in the forum like shown in the screenshot.

thank you!

Thanks. I set the date and time to automatic, and nothing happened. Here is the error information I get from one site (Google)

Thank you. I am impressed that you knew I had Avast on my computer! I have had it on my computer for a while, and have not changed any of the settings, so its behaviour is unusual.
