what was your profile location.

correcting a mismatch in locations is relatively easy if you have experience with the file system. If you did a "clean" install where Windows upgrades by moving everything to the windows.old folder on the hard disk, you will need to dig out your old profile and actually move it to the correct location.

Thank you Matt! I am uncertain how to do that. The address in the current Thunderbird is - C:\Users\test\AppData\Roaming\Thunderbird\Profiles\3pzwac9i.default. The address where my old files are is - C:\Users\Jerry Knight\AppData\Roaming\Thunderbird\Profiles\5ufyd3f0.default\Mail. Note that both the user and 8 digit number ae different. Can I just copy and paste the the old address to the new address? Not concerned about loosing current files.

I discovered that to copy and paste the contents of one profile to another the address of each must be reduced to only the 8 digits in a window by itself. And then voila - my TB was restored with all 24 local folders and contents and the calendar was restored HOORAY my problem is solved.
