Lightning "enable this calendar" greyed out after Thunderbird update

This morning I open my laptop and there's no Thunderbird. Icon is missing and a search of the hard drive comes up empty. A truly WTF moment. I Googled this phenomenon and ended up downloading and reinstalling Thunderbird. All email folders and email returned (thank god).

The lighting Calendar now only shows events from one of five I had enabled with the others all saying "The provider for this calendar could not be found. This often happens if you have disabled or uninstalled certain addons.

The location shows the URL (e.g., googleapi://...) and an email address, but the Enable This Calendar check box is greyed out.

All I did was the forced-to-update reinstall of Thunderbird.

Any thoughts?

Thanks.

Chosen solution

EDIT: Stans reply is the answer. I goofed when I selected my post below.

There is some additional set up work required within Thunderbird Tools > Synchronization Settings TbSync in order to re-establish a link and synchronization with my Google calendar which upon finishing, completed the solution.

Thank you for the reply. Good to know it's nothing I did and am not crazy. I installed TbSync but beyond that am not seeing any changes is the calendar status. Enable This Calendar for other calendars is still greyed out and I don't see any settings or permissions in TbSync to adjust or enable. I understand this is probably not your thing, but if you have any suggestions as to what I am missing, I'd appreciate hearing them.

thanks, Bill

p.s. I closed and restarted Thunderbird.

The add-on that provided Google Calendar syncing is not compatible (has not been updated by its author to work) with Thunderbird 78. You can restore access using an alternative add-on called TbSync.
