Thunderbird email client quit working a month ago
Doesn't work. Quit working at least a month ago. Don't know why. Could have been an update. Could be the update made my GODAWFUL windows 10 security go awry or maybe Thunderbird doesn't like windows x. Or maybe Thunderbird security doesn't like windows security. Or the other firewalls/antivirus/anti-malware/blah blah I've tried. I don't know. The bottom line is, Thunderbird won't work. I've tried everything I can, asked all the people smarter than me what the problem is, they don't know, and I'm really sick of trying all the fixes. The fact that I can't call someone to ask questions about it teeth-grindingly irritating.
I had a lot of saved emails that I really needed on there. So....let me know when you all figure out the problem. Like it says below, you can EMAIL ME the answer. That's a laugh huh?
With all the many phone companies we have, the phone towers every 10 miles, the myriad number of phone choices we have, and I can't talk to someone? Amazing. Thanks.

Just how do you expect a business that has no support staff to answer the phone? This is a per support forum and it is the only support available. You flippant I am frustrated and I have no idea is not going to get a result here. Either you participate in the process by offering facts about the problem, or you take your machine to a professional and pay to have it fixed.

In order for us to investigate this issue, we'll need some information.
Could you please do the following?
- Open the menu > Help > Troubleshooting Information, then click Copy text to Clipboard.
- Go to https://pastebin.com, paste the info from your Troubleshooting Information page, use the Create New Paste button to create a page containing your info, then copy the resulting URL (address) of the page created.
- Open a reply to this post, and paste the link to your troubleshooting information you just copied.
Next, we'll need you to provide answers to the following questions:
- Does Thunderbird work in Safe Mode?
- Do you use anti-virus and firewall software? What is the version?
- Who is the email provider?
- Who is the internet provider?
- What is the exact error message?
- What steps did you take right before this happened?

Just a fact of life. But then there appears to be a widespread idea in the USA that you can ring software companies for support. The rest of the world got the message 20 plus years ago that ringing software companies for support was very expensive and often unsuccessful because the technician did not have access to the computer.
