Thunderbird sort descending in threads
Hi,
I can't figure out how to make my threaded conversations sort by descending order. I've got the setting View->Sort_by->Date-Descending->Threaded and email that is not in a thread is sorted in descending order (latest first), but in a threaded conversation, the oldest message is at the top of the thread.
I've seen a lot of conversations posted from the distant past, nothing new and nothing that "fixed" this. Let me know if I missed an add-on or setting.
Thanks, JS

You missed nothing. That is how it works.
Seems odd I can sort my inbox or a folder in descending order, but the only way to view a thread is in ascending order.

Not really as threaded view shows the replies to an email in the thread. sorting them by date would actually mess up the whole "thread" as you would no longer know which messages replied to which. The following "threaded" conversation makes it clear who replied to whom. once that was sorted by date that information would not only be lost. But the threaded view would no longer be threaded, it would be "replies sorted by date"
Could you possibly be looking for the conversations addon that provides a Google gmail like view of messages. That will show the latest reply as the top of the message content. https://addons.thunderbird.net/en-us/thunderbird/addon/gmail-conversation-view/
