Thunderbird will not accept my password and I can't change it. Do I need to delete Mozilla Thunderbird and reinstall it. I don't like to do that as all my contacts and emails are on it.

re :Do I need to delete Mozilla Thunderbird and reinstall it. No. It has nothing to do with the program.
Perhaps it might help if you could explain what is going on and offer a bit more info. Q: What OS are you using ? Windows 10, MAC, Linux ? Q: What version of Thunderbird are you using?
Q: What type of account are you talking about ? POP or IMAP ? Q: What server are you using ? eg: gmail, comcast etc

Logon to your webmail account to check the password you are using is correct. Then at least you know the password works. Q: Can you get access to webmail account via a browser?
Q: Are you trying to create/add a mail account but keep getting a password/username error ?
Q: Do you have a mail account which has been ok for a while, but suddenly you got a password error when Thunderbird tried to connect to server?
Q: Or perhaps you can receive emails ok, but when trying to send an email you got an error message ?
Please provide some information so we can understand the real issue.
