Cursor appears in adressbar not in searchbar
Hi,
After a new windows installation, firefox opens a new tab (newtab override) and places the cursor in the upper adressbar. I am looking for a way so that the cursor appears in the search bar in the middle. It happens with the newtab override and also without it. I could not find anything on helpsites and fora.
Does this look familiar to you ?

Now I found a solution on this website: https://addons.mozilla.org/nl/firefox/addon/new-tab-override/versions/ I downloaded an older version and guess what .... it has the "focus" button and it works like a dream. Thanks for your effort to help me. Greetz,

Addition I asked this question before, using New Tab Homepage and the solution was that I had to delete New Tab Homepage and use newtab override. It helped then .... but not this time.
New Tab Override has a setting for where the cursor should go on a new tab. (This screenshot is from a thread last August, so possible some details have changed.)
You are right, some details changed ... this time there is no option "focus" .. it has simply disappeared. I tried that already ... you gave that solution 8 months ago, that's why I ask again. Now when I get a new tab, it opens with topwebsites and when I push the homebutton it shows my homepage with the cursor in the right place.
So I turned on the extension and it didn't immediately take over the new tab, I needed to enable it on the Options page. I don't know when that started. Do you see this:
The settings are correct. I found a couple of discussions about the same issue and found no solution. Maybe I should ask the creator of new tab why the option "focus" has disappeared.
This I found on another forum (GitHub) :

Since yesterday i can't seem to set focus on the webpage which is opened. Has this feature been removed @cadeyrn Owner cadeyrn commented 3 hours ago •
If you newly installed New Tab Override from addons.mozilla.org within the last few days, then yes, the version 15.0 with this feature is currently disabled. A new version 15.1 was already submitted and is awaiting the review. It should be available for the public in the next few days.
