With the latest update Firefox no longer displays web pages properly. Menu options are unreadable until you hover over them I am running the latest version with MAC OS 11.5 I have reset to default settings, removed extensions etc and same issue. I can use Chrome or Safari and the pages look correct. Is anyone else having this issue? From the attachments you can see the that the one wiht the white background on the menu and middle screen is Firefox - the other is Chrome displaying correctly, Safari renders it properly as well. I have also checked my Windows 10 computer with Firefox and it works properly.

Thanks in advance for suggestions.

Chosen solution

This could be a problem with High Contrast Mode on Mac.

See "New" in the release notes.

Firefox now automatically enables High Contrast Mode when "Increase Contrast" is checked on MacOS in the Accessibility settings.

Make sure you allow pages to choose their own colors.

  • Settings -> General: Fonts & Colors -> Colors: "Override the colors specified by the page with my selections above"

Try "Never" if the default "Only with High Contrast themes" isn't working.

In the accessibility settings under display high contrast was selected. After I unchecked that and restarted Firefox is back to normal. Thanks for the help!
