All saved mail messages in my local folders on Thunderbird disappeared
When I opened my Thunderbird mail app this morning all of the messages saved in my local folders are gone. What happened? How do I get them back?
All of my saved mail messages were in my local folders last night.

re : all of the messages saved in my local folders are gone.
Offer some info to clarify what you are talking about. What OS do you use? What version of Thunderbird are you currently using ? Is it 91.3.2 ?
Are you talking about folders in a POP mail account? OR Are you talking about folders in an IMAP mail account ? OR Are you talking about folders in the 'Local Folders' mail account ?
Are the folders missing or can you see the folders but the folders are empty?
Make sure there are no filters blocking the view. Check settings: Menu app icon > View > Folders > select 'All' Menu app icon > View > Threads > Select 'All
Check filters in the 'Quick Filter Bar' Are any of those filters selected/highlighted? Is the 'Pin' icon selected ? If yes, select them to uncheck the filter.
Hey Toad-Hall,
Tks for responding. Here's what I've got:
OS = Windows 10 T-Bird = 91.3.2 Folders = Local folder in T-Bird Folder status = all folders are visible but are empty Menu app icon > View > Folders > select 'All' (confirmed) Menu app icon > View > Threads > Select 'All' (confirmed)
Lastly, no filters are selected on the the 'quick filter' bar while in any view mode (inbox, inbox folders, or local folders)
The mail messages in my local folders just disappeared - poof, gone, up in smoke... Very disheartening.
Again, thanks for your response!
Additionally, in Local Folders - account settings - Disk Space - "Don't delete any messages" is selected.
Tks
At this point do not compact any folders.
Check to see what is in the profile location. Menu app icon > Help > More Troubleshooting Information Under 'Application Basics' - 'Profile Folder' - click on 'Open Folder'
A new window opens showing contents of the 'profile name' folder.
Exit Thunderbird now.
Click on 'Mail' folder Click on 'Local Folders' folder to see contents.
Set the view is to show details, so you see columns: name, date modified, type and size. Make window as big as possible. Post an image so I can see the contents of the 'Local Folder'. It needs to include the directory so I know what folder contents I'm viewing. Post more than one image if necessary.
If your 'Local Folders' mail account has subfolders, you may see folders with a .sbd extension: click on that folder to show contents and post image.
