Hello! I'm really hoping you guys can help me figure this out. I'm having trouble loading my college's website (mcla.edu) and its associated sites (my student portal, workstudy timesheet, anything under the mcla.edu domain). It takes approximately 2 minutes from entering the website into the search bar for it to actually connect to the website. After connecting, the website works fine and isn't laggy whatsoever- it's just the initial connection that takes forever. This problem occurs across different wifi connections. It does not occur in Google Chrome or on Firefox on my iPhone. I have tried launching in safe mode and that did not change anything. I tried creating a new profile and did some experimentation (no addons/customizations/signing into anything else from default, and then addons I normally use), and every time the website would connect fine for the first couple of tries, and then reverts to the taking minutes to load. According to the Firefox taskmanager, mcla.edu is only using a low amount of energy. I believe it has something to do with my profile since the problem was temporarily solved with a new profile, but I'm lost beyond that. I did a hard refresh and have even deleted/reinstalled Firefox to try and fix this problem. Right now I just get by by using Chrome for my school website and Firefox for everything else, but I would really love to be able to use this one browser. Any advice is greatly appreciated.

I have several versions of Firefox and had no problem.

Start Firefox using Troubleshoot(Safe) Mode {web link}

A small dialog should appear. Click Start In Troubleshoot(Safe) Mode (not Refresh). Is the problem still there?

Sounds like DNS, site took 3.9sec for me. see screenshot Who are you using for DNS. https://support.apple.com/guide/mac-help/specify-a-dns-server-on-mac-mchlp2720/12.0/mac/12.0

I'm a fan of 1.1.1.1 and 1.0.0.1. Let me dust of my mac and test.

No dice with 1.1.1.1 :( Under "Search domains" I have mclaad.mcla.edu - not sure if this would be causing my problems? Again, since this only happens in Firefox and not Chrome/Safari I'm a little lost :(

It wouldn't hurt to remove mclaad.mcla.edu and see what happens. I couldn't even resolve mclaad.mcla.edu.
