Should I upgrade to version 102?

Back in June 2022 I decided to upgrade from version 91 to version 102.

I consider myself a heavy Thunderbird user as I keep almost a dozen POP3 accounts in unified folders, with plenty of filters, and successfully keep track of my emails, personal, work, etc., with an archive going back 20 years. My email mbox folders reach around 15 GB currently.

Well, immediately after upgrading all my mboxes got messed up. Arriving messages were being scrambled with older ones, headers disappeared, duplicates and blanks showed up, filters malfunctioned. Early adopter's nightmare!

Fortunately I was able to revert to 91, with the "--allow-downgrade" option, with minimal loss of messages --or I thought so.

My question: Today, five months later, is it safe to upgrade to the 102 branch? Was it just me with these behaviour, and if so, why?

I run Windows 10 Pro 64bit on a i7-3770K CPU @ 3.50GHz with 8GB RAM.

I treat email as a production system. As such, I do a full backup prior to all updates in case I need to recover. That's my suggestion to you. Be sure to monitor any antivirus software that may interfere.
