Failed to connect to server IMAP.Googlemail.com
Apologies, searched on help and saw older 2022 messages and attempted to correct but have had no success. My Thunderbird updated on March 4 version 115.8.1 and I have Windows Defender running somewhere in background..
Past week or two I will get intermittent error message "Failed to connect to server IMAP.Googlemail.com" seemed to clear on daily restart of PC Windows 10, now 100% frequency when Thunderbird opens or when I attempt "file-get new message for......"
If I attempt compose send a message I get the message, "Your message was sent but a copy was not placed in your sent folder (Sent Mail) due to network or file access errors. You can retry or ........"
Thanks for any assist and guidance. Tim

Thank you very much for the recommendations, have implemented the change from imap.googlemail.com to imap.gmail.com and my inboxes flooded with all the messages I have not been receiving, thank you. Have unchecked the "Place Copy in" Again greatly appreciate the help and the fix. Tim

The server names that work best in TB are imap.gmail.com (port 993, SSL/TLS, OAuth2, email address) and smtp.gmail.com (port 465, SSL/TLS, OAuth2, email address). Gmail automatically copies sent messages to the Sent Mail folder, so 'Place a copy in' in Account Settings, Copies & Folders, should be unchecked, and Sent Mail should be subscribed.
