Firefox and Chrome crash eachother

more options

I've asked about this before but got no help Firefox is my browser of choice. Occasionally, I find in necessary to use Chrome.

The vast majority of time, when are both are active at the same time, one or both crash, like today. Firefox closed abruptly, then the crash report appeared. I have the crash report. Chrome froze up, and had to be shut down in Task Manager.

It only occurs in this scenario. Rarely does Firefox crash otherwise.

Can someone please advise where to go to get help?

We're sorry to hear that Firefox is crashing. In order to assist you better, please follow the steps below to provide us crash IDs to help us learn more about your crash.

The crash report is several pages of data. We need the report numbers to see the whole report.

  1. Enter about:crashes in the Firefox address bar and press Enter. A list of Submitted (and Unsubmitted, if any) Crash Reports will appear, similar to the one shown below.
  2. Copy the 5 most recent Submitted Report IDs that start with bp- and then go back to your forum question and paste those IDs into the "Post a Reply" box.

Note: If a recent Report ID does not start with bp- click on it to submit the report.

(Please don't take a screenshot of your crashes, just copy and paste the IDs. The below image is just an example of what your Firefox screen should look like.)

The crash report in an OOM (out of memory) report where not enough contiguous free memory is available (memory seems to be rather heavily fragmented).

This happened later in the day. I returned to find it after the computer had been idle for some time. Chrome not involved.

Could hardware acceleration be a factor? Should I disable it? what should I expect in terms of behavior/performance if I do?

Just curious... Can we get a screenshot of the performance tab from task manager?

With both browsers active, or just Firefox?

What does OOM indicate as far as the seeking the origin of the problem? Where do I go from here?
