sync needs six digit security code
I am going round in circles. The last Firefox update reset my Firefox on my laptop to default settings including losing my master password. I started to reset all my old settings but when I got to the part where I setup the sync with my phone version of Firefox, Mozilla asked me to log in. My password was not recognised so I hit "Forgot password" having set up a new password using one of my 10 digit authentication codes, I was then asked to log in with my new password, I did this & when trying to do the sync, I am being asked for a six digit authentication code! I have no idea where to find this code. Please help.

Do not confuse the 32 character recovery key and the 10-digit two-factor recovery codes. There is only one long recovery key to use when you forget the password of the Sync account, but there are several 2FA recovery codes that you can use if you lost access to the authenticator app. Sync may ask for a confirmation code that is send via email if you connect a new device to Sync. If you reset the password without using the recovery key then you lose all data stored on the Sync server.
I was asked to enter a 6 digit code from my authentication app. I don't have one so I was lost!
Did you lose access to thee with the authenticator app?
If you still have a device that is logged in then you can try to disable 2FA via its Sync settings. If you also do not have a backup of the recovery codes then you need to create a new account with a separate email as there is no way to bypass 2FA.
