First of all, why are there two Other Bookmarks folders? When I add a new bookmark, my routine is to open Manage Bookmarks, drag the new bookmark to the second (lower) Other bookmarks folder, then choose Sort > Sort by Name. I have also tried A > Z Sort Order. The sorts work within the Manage Bookmarks window, but they are not saved automatically, and I do not see a way to save them manually. Also, if I go to the Other Bookmarks folder on the far right side of the Bookmarks Toolbar, I have to scroll down to the bottom of the list to see my new bookmarks. They are not in ascending alphabetical order the way I want them.

Thank you very much, cor-el. That solved my sorting problem. I saw the article you referenced but didn't bother reading it when I saw it was last updated 10 years ago. I did not imagine the instructions would still apply after so many versions of Firefox!

You appear to be using the Views menu and sorting via this menu is the same as clicking a column header and this only works temporarily in the Library. You need to use "Sort By Name" in the right-click context menu of a folder to sort the content of this folder.
