How do I remove namoroka 3.6.5pre completely
Ubuntu Lucid 10.04 and I have installed F/f 3.5, 3.6, 3.65pre only 3.6.5pre does not appear in the synaptic list. I would like to revert to the recognised/updated version of 3.6 and completely remove all redundant packages. Mozilla only suggests removing the profile but I need that when the recognised version is allowed to run. Suggestions would be welcome.
This happened
Every time Firefox opened
User Agent
Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.9.2.5pre) Gecko/20100513 Ubuntu/10.04 (lucid) Namoroka/3.6.5pre
Chosen solution
i added "PPA for firefox-smooth-scaling" in my software sources to fix image scaling problems. this changed my firefox to namoroka. But i dont want namoroka. when i removed PPA for firefox-smooth-scaling, i got firefox back but i still have problem with image scaling (shows pix-elated images).
any help would be much appreciated.

I know nothing about Ubuntu but Firefox, a little!
I'm assuming you want to remove the program files but not the profile you use for 3.6.5pre = Minefield?
If you cannot remove it via whatever Add/Remove program you have, locate the Program Folder for Minefield. Open the 'uninstall' folder and double click the 'helper.exe' file and this will start the uninstallation process.
After you've uninstalled you can go back and delete the Program folder if it didn't delete during the uninstall process.
Just one thing, you may have a few problems running profiles from different builds of Firefox (Firefox, Namoroka, Minefield etc) so you might want to consider using different profiles. You may be ok, but in light of the changes Minefield is currently going through........
Cheers Keith
Replace Minefield with Namoroka!
Keithy, thanks for your response, it is Ubuntu/10.04 (lucid) Namoroka/3.6.5pre that I am trying to delete.
I wish to run the stable Firefox 3.6 which is already installed (via the package manager) but will not run due to Namoroka gaining precedence. Also Namoroka was not installed by the package manager and so does not 'see' it. I thought Mozilla would have an 'uninstall' script to run to remove it direct.
Hi Cushie,
Please allow for the fact I know nothing about Ubuntu but I think I understand your problem. You want to remove Namoroka and use Firefox but Namoroka doesn't 'appear' anywhere.
Uninstall Namoroka as I explained previously (accessing the Program folder and running the helper.exe file). Open Firefox and access Options, click tabs: Advanced > General and under System Defaults select (by ticking the box) the option to make Firefox the default browser.
You should be good to go then Cushie.
If you have any problems, after uninstalling Namoroka you can install Firefox again over the original installation, it wont do any harm.
I hope that covered it for you.
Just delete the directory in which that Firefox (Namoroka) version is installed. That should be sufficient.
Thanks for your suggestions, I resolved this problem with:
I followed the instruction given by 'lovinglinux' http://ubuntuforums.org/newreply.php?do=newreply&noquote=1&p=9306627 and the following worked well. "System >> Administration >> Software Sources >> Other Software" and disable ubuntu-mozilla-daily then run these commands:
sudo apt-get remove firefox sudo apt-get install firefox sudo apt-get autoremove
Your help appreciated.
