If "Allowed Sites - Pop-ups" has a long list of sites with "block" next to each site, does that mean it's blocked or not?

I usually don't have a pop-up problem with Firefox but lately new tabs have randomly started opening with sites I haven't requested. Thought I would check the pop-up blocker as directed. Anyway when checking the Allowed Sites list it has a great long list of sites with the word "block" by each site... does that mean it's blocked or not. In the support pages on this site I can't seem to find a reference to this... Please explain in the simplest terms 'cos I'm really not a techie! I've struggled to understand some of the links on this pages! :-)

The pop-up exception list is empty by default. If you have a large number of sites listed there then then must have been added by an extension or other software on your computer. Block means that pop-ups are blocked and Allow means that pop-ups are allowed in addition to the default setting in "Tools > Options > Content : Block pop-up windows"

Do a malware check with a few malware scan programs. You need to use all programs because each detects different malware. Make sure that you update each program to get the latest version of the database.

Thank you so much for your reply. I have done a couple of the malware scans you've mentioned already, but will go through your list and do the others.

Thanks again for replying
