I can't delete my bookmarks.
Hello,
I've recently decided I want to delete a lot of my bookmarks. I probably have about 10.000+ of them and most are not needed at all (they come from StumbleUpon likes).
However, I cannot delete folders of bookmarks or higher numbers of selected bookmarks. Everytime I try to do that, my Firefox becomes unresponsive and my CPU usage goes to the maximum.
It doesn't delete them like this either. Numerous times I've terminated the unresponsive Firefox process and after restarting, all of the bookmarks were in place.
I can only delete smaller numbers of bookmarks (like 20-30 at a time), but considering the huge number of bookmarks I have, that would take a lot of time.
All of my StumbleUpon bookmarks are sorted in only about 10 folders or so, so I would only need to select one and delete it, if that worked.
Is there a workaround for this? Or some alternate way of deleting bookmarks, without the Bookmark Manager?
Thanks!

You can try to export the bookmarks to an HTML file and edit that file.
If you can't delete the bookmarks then you can delete or move places.sqlite or use the choice on the Safe mode start window and import that edited HTML file.

Thanks, cor-el!
I've exported the bookmarks, then I've decided that I want to delete all Firefox bookmarks, so I deleted the places.sqlite file and Bookmarkbackups folder.
The bookmarks were gone, although Firefox has restored some older bookmarks after this. I removed them manually, as they weren't very numerous.
