I downloaded a program that scrambled my Firefox browser. I couldn't remove all of that bad software --- it left a task bar that I can't get rid of. I can't find the right people to get help there. I tried to uninstall my Firefox in order to reinstall it, hopefully without the task bar. It seemed to uninstall properly until I downloaded Firefox, overwriting the old Firefox, but it wouldn't reinstall without the same problems that the old corrupted Firefox had. I'd appreciate any help I can get. The corrupted Firefox is not loading some web sites properly.

I tried finding Oberon using google. It still didn't give me anyone who might be able to find who to get for support.

For some reason, when I try to download anything in Firefox it goes only to a download folder. I can't run it from there. I did manage to download "perfect uninstaller" using the Opera browser. However, as it has done on all but the first attempt to uninstall the Oberon software, it doesn't see any software from Oberon or under the name of the downloaded program. While trying to find Oberon I found that it is listed as not yet compatible with Firefox. However they didn't mention this on the site where I downloaded it.

I managed to get around part of the problem by doing a system restore back to a point where the ill-behaved program was downloaded. However, I'm having a different problem now. While I am still getting a shortcut for Firefox on my desktop it isn't bringing the browser up. I tried putting the desktop icon in the trash and trying to take Firefox and download it anew and try to get it up and running. While I was able to do the download, setting Firefox as my default browser in the process, the program wouldn't launch from the install message or from the new shortcut. Do I uninstall firefox and then try it again? Any suggestions?
