I currently have Firefox 3.0.5 installed on my MacBook (10.5.8). I can download FF4 but when I try to complete the installation by dragging the FF icon into the folder I get the above message. Thanks.

  • Trash the current Firefox application to do a clean (re-)install.
  • Install the new version that you have downloaded.

Your profile data is stored elsewhere in the Firefox Profile Folder, so you won't lose your bookmarks and other personal data.
