When I go the Tools > Add-ons the window is blank for Get Add-ons, Extensions, Themes, Personas, and plugins. My Greasemonkey scripts and Styles load but it takes longer than it usually does. I didn't Uninstall all of my Add-ons and they still show at the top and bottom of my firefox windows. Also, when I start firefox it notifies me when I have Updates for my Add-ons.

Start Firefox in Diagnose Firefox issues using Troubleshoot Mode to check if one of the add-ons is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Tools > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).

  • Don't make any changes on the Safe mode start window.

See:

If it does work in Safe-mode then disable all extensions and then try to find which is causing it by enabling one at a time until the problem reappears.

  • Use "Disable all add-ons" on the Safe mode start window to disable all extensions.
  • Close and restart Firefox after each change via "File > Exit" (Mac: "Firefox > Quit"; Linux: "File > Quit")

This can also be a problem with the file(s) that store the extensions registry.

Delete the files extensions.* (extensions.sqlite, extensions.rdf, extensions.cache, extensions.ini) and compatibility.ini in the Firefox profile folder to reset the extensions registry. New files will be created when required.

See "Corrupt extension files": http://kb.mozillazine.org/Unable_to_install_themes_or_extensions

If you see disabled, not compatible, extensions in "Tools > Add-ons > Extensions" then click the "Find Updates" button to do a compatibility check.
