In FF, new folders appear in the bookmarks list mixed in with single bookmarks. With IE new folders are automatically placed at the top of the "favorite" list - when "sort by name" is used folders & favorites are alphabetized - the folders remaining in a single grouping at the top. In FF, the only way I can find to group bookmark folders together at the top of the list is to move them manually. Is there any function that will group all folders together at the top of the list?

Yes, you should be able to do this. If you open the Bookmarks sidebar (usually Ctrl+b will open it), right-click Bookmarks Menu (near the top of the sidebar) and choose Sort by Name, all the folders should come to the top, followed by the unfiled bookmarks.

(I've carried forward settings from many previous versions of Firefox, so if it doesn't work for you, it could mean that I've got something a bit different in about:config.)
