Turning a feature of Firefox 4.0.1 Off
Please could you assist with how to turn off a feature that is new to me having recently started to use Firefox 4.0.1.?
When preparing to select a link, or when just hovering over a link, the link's address is displayed at the bottom left of my screen. As I find this feature annoying and distracting to whatever I am looking at on screen, please could you inform me if it simply possible to turn this feature off, and if so, how one may do this.

Install this add-on: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/status-4-evar/
Then right click a blank part of the Tab bar and then click "Add-on bar" to remove the checkmark. It will disappear and you shouldn't be able to see where a link will take you after that.

This is a security feature.
So if I create a link like this Diagnose Firefox issues using Troubleshoot Mode, you have no way of knowing where it will take you just by looking at it. If however you can hover the mouse over it you can.
It's really not something you should think about disabling, but to do so, right click a blank part of the Tab bar and then click "Add-on bar" to remove the checkmark.
Thank you. Checking the "Add-on bar" however does not stop the link showing on the bottom left.

Your advice and help has allowed me to achieve what I wanted.
Thank you very much.
