I installed new Firefox few weeks ago. So, in this new version, Pop-up blocking is turned on. I conclude that due to fact that some pages (pop-ups) which I used to use regularly can not be browsed. However, in previous version of Firefox I was informed about pop-up and offered with possibility to make exceptions of some pop-ups which I allowed. Now, in this version I don't have information bar and I don't know how to turn on that bar.

I didn't solve my problem. I couldn't activate information bar. The bar is dismissed (somehow) and I don't know how to enable that bar again. I need information when some pop-up is blocked and I still don't have it.

Please do the following.

  1. In the location bar at the top, type about:config and hit Enter.

  2. In the filter at the top, copy/paste the following: privacy.popups.showBrowserMessage This may or may not display a blank page, but if it does, then that's OK too.

  3. If you see the above entry appear and it shows "False" under "Value" on the right. double click it to change it to "True" and go to step 7.

  4. If all you see is a blank page, right click anywhere in the blank area and choose "New", then "Boolean".

  5. In the dialog box which appears called "Enter Preference Name", copy/paste: privacy.popups.showBrowserMessage and click OK.

  6. In the next dialog box which appears, choose "True".

  7. Close the tab and then go to http://www.popuptest.com/ and test it.

I don't understand any of the directions above! Is there a newer resolution to this problem so many people are having a problem with?
