Why won't Firefox let the Facebook popup open when I click the "like" icon I inserted in my website's html, even though I've turned off the block popups option?

The popup window (for logging on to Facebook) opens & closes & opens & closes & so on until I'm lucky enough to click on the close window "x". I just pasted the code from the Facebook page and changed the size to just show the little thumbs up icon.

Seems to work OK on that other browser, which I only use to verify html code.

Thanks for any help you can give,

Searle

Hi, I just stumbled onto this solution (not written by me):

http://blog.miranda.or.at/2011/05/firefox-and-the-looping-problem-with-facebook-like-buttons

The relevant bit: "Create an exception rule for facebook.com. In [Options->Privacy], click the Exceptions... button and a new dialog will open. Enter facebook.com in the address line and hit the Allow button. This will only allow 3rd party cookies for facebook, making your Like and Recommend buttons work normally." (I didn't write this. Credit goes to the author.)

Worked for me.
