Click the orange Firefox button, go to Options | Options | Applications and check to see whether the mailto menu is pointing to your email client or not. If it isn't, use the dropdown menu to select it.

If your're using Hotmail as your default email client, you'll need to add it to the menu manually. See instructions on this site in that particular case: http://www.dkszone.net/how-to-make-hotmail-or-livemail-as


Please also visit the Plugins Check page and update where necessary. Some of your plugins are seriously out of date which exposes your system to attack.

Outlook Express is default & G-Mail is also used..

OK, do the following please.

  1. Launch Internet Explorer and then click Tools | Internet Options.

  2. Click the Programs tab and then choose "Outlook Express" in the dropdown Email field.

  3. Remove the checkmark from "Tell me if Internet Explorer is not the default browser".

  4. Click Apply/OK and then close it.

  5. Start Firefox, click the orange Firefox button, go to Options | Options | Advanced.

  6. In the General tab, System Defaults menu, checkmark "Always check to see if Firefox is the default browser on startup" and then click the "Check Now" button.

  7. Click OK and then try and send a link again (assuming you've selected mailto: OE in the Applications menu).

Shoud work.
