It seems that I get these HUGE link context windows. Might only be one or two words but the context window is huge, 850x475 pixels.

I disabled all addons and going back to default theme, and it still happens. I already made a new profile and it still happens. I took a screen capture of it but have no way to post it or attach it here.

Could you please explain what is meant by "link context windows"? A screen capture image would be great. There is an Add images field with a Browse button using which you can attach the screenshots.

Forgot to mention, I've tried using different themes. I get that huge context window no matter where the link is located in the page or on the browser.

Start Firefox in Diagnose Firefox issues using Troubleshoot Mode to check if one of the extensions is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).

In Firefox 4 and later Safe mode disables extensions and disables hardware acceleration.

  • Tools > Options > Advanced > General > Browsing: "Use hardware acceleration when available"

If disabling hardware acceleration works then check if there is an update available for your graphics display driver.

That was the first thing I did. Not only that, I created a new vanilla profile, without extentions/addons, using default theme and still occurred. I spent three days trying to find out what was causing this before I posted here. As much as I appreciate the assist, I'm not a noob.

Did you try to disable hardware acceleration or does it still happen in Safe mode?

Sure did! And I just did it all again (backed up my profile, then deleted it, created new profile and used plain vanilla FF v5, no addons, default theme), just to make sure and still am getting the huge context menu for links.
